Paulina Simutytė | associo VII, 2019 | Canvas, acrylic, light (3000K), 50x40 (51x41)
The luminous painting from the ASSOCIO series by the emerging Lithuanian artist Paulina Simutytė.
Since 2015, the artist has been experimenting with two-tone paints – yellow and blue. By introducing a third element – rays of light – into the dialogue between yellow and blue, fire and water, the ASSOCIO paintings come to life: colors begin to blend, and the canvases transform into abstract, shimmering worlds, opening wider doors to the subconscious.
Includes frame with an illuminating LED power source, powered by electricity (EU plug). The light can be turned on or off, and the brightness can be adjusted with a switch on the painting frame.

Paulina Simutytė (b. 1991) is an artist whose work spans both visual arts and performance. As a painter, she creates abstract pieces influenced by her travels and the psychological theories of Carl Jung. Using canvas, acrylics, and artificial light, her technique blends blue and yellow tones, revealing changing perspectives and contrasts. Her paintings feature thick layers of color and texture, with light introducing deeper layers of subconscious perception.
Paulina’s work invites viewers to engage in a paradoxical experience—moving closer reveals intricate details, while stepping back brings the composition into focus. Recently, she has begun using pigments from river stones to explore natural color palettes. In addition to painting, Paulina designs music album covers, creates graphic scores, and recently debuted as a theater scenographer with Kafka Insomnia. She is also a musician with groups like Uprising Tree and Delasfera.
