Linas Kaziulionis
b. 1993, Lithuania

A prominent Lithuanian painter and muralist, Linas Kaziulionis has earned recognition both nationally and internationally. His works intellectually explore the processes of constructing reality, the influence of information flows, and the mechanisms of disinformation. Every brushstroke, layer, and recurring motif creates visual narratives where aesthetics merge with critical thinking, inviting the viewer to become an active participant in interpretation.

Linas began painting at a very young age, spending his childhood in his parents’ studio, filled with the scent of oil paints, where his artist parents created copies of famous artworks and painted commissioned portraits. Later, he studied at the Panevėžys Art School and the Kaunas Art Gymnasium, and completed both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Painting at the Vilnius Academy of Arts. In 2018, he was granted professional artist status by the Lithuanian Ministry of Culture.

Linas Kaziulionis (pseudonym – K ART 7) is one of Lithuania’s most renowned muralists. His wall paintings adorn cities across Lithuania, including Vilnius, Kaunas, Klaipėda, and Radviliškis. He actively participates in international street art festivals, having painted in Kosovo, Copenhagen, Stockholm, New York, Bangkok, and several Italian cities. At the invitation of the Lithuanian Embassy, he also painted a mural in New Delhi. In 2024 alone, his murals covered more than 2,000 m² of wall space, including a piece on the famous street art wall “Le Mur Oberkampf” in the heart of Paris. Linas has also been awarded the Best European Street Artist prize (“MArteLive,” Italy, 2022).

His work has been exhibited both in Lithuania and abroad—in the USA, Belgium, France, and Japan—with an exhibition in Estonia planned soon. In 2022, he won the Young Painter Prize in the Baltic countries, and one of his paintings has been added to the collection of the Lithuanian National Museum of Art, housed at the National Gallery of Art. Following this achievement, two successful solo exhibitions of Linas Kaziulionis were held at H Gallery in Paris. During one of the openings, gallery owner Hélianthe Bourdeaux-Maurin said: “Linas’s approach—engaging the mind and imagination, reconsidering information flows, deconstructing conspiracy theories, and uncovering complex links between conspiracies, social conflicts, and propaganda—is extremely compelling and reflects the complexity of the world.”

Since 2020, Linas has been delving into the analysis of conspiracy theories and methods of constructing disinformation, encouraging viewers to reflect on the distortion of reality and the conditionality of truth in the age of information. These ideas formed the basis of his artistic project–conspiracy theory Controller.

Art historian Julija Dailidėnaitė-Palmeirao highlights the artist’s courage to experiment with painting techniques and his move toward greater abstraction, reminiscent of Op Art:
“In his latest works, we see layers of brushstrokes that immerse viewers into the depth of the painting without letting them get lost: painterly details are arranged like a collage, and unexpectedly appearing characters draw the gaze back to the surface. Linas has a strong command of color, line, and brushwork.”
