Todd Bienvenu Born in 1980 in Little Rock, Arkansas, USA. Lives and works in Brooklyn, New York. He received his BFA from Louisiana State University and attended the New York Studio School. In 2018 he received an award for excellence in painting from the American Academy of Arts and Letters, conferred by Peter Saul. Represented by Almine Rech. His painting appeared on the cover of an Iron & Wine album and in the TV series Master of None.
Bienvenu's paintings are thick, direct and humorous reflections of everyday life — beach bums, tattooed rockers, mosh pits and urban crashes. Sunscreen is a classic example of his beach scenes.
