Rebecca Brodskis
Born in 1988 in France. Lives and works in Paris. She spent most of her childhood between France and Morocco. Brodskis studied painting at the Ateliers des Beaux-Arts de la Ville de Paris and at Central Saint Martins, London (2010), and in 2015 completed an MA in Sociology at the Université de Caen, researching vulnerability and social crisis. Represented by Kristin Hjellegjerde Gallery. Her paintings inhabit the realm of portraiture, yet do not portray specific individuals: blending reality and imagination, observation and memory, she paints imagined characters in flat fields of bold colour. L'apesanteur ("Weightlessness") shows a swimmer suspended between orange and green planes.
