The artwork was exhibited at the memorial exhibition of Pranas Domšaitis, 1880-1965, opened in 1966 at the South African National Gallery in Cape Town, a year after P. Domšaitis' death. In 1967, this exhibition took place at the Pretoria Art Museum. The exhibition featured 205 works by Pranas Domšaitis, spanning his entire creative career. The majority of the works exhibited in the exhibition were later donated to the Lithuanian National Museum of Art (LNDM) between 1989 and 2006, and are now on display at the Pranas Domšaitis Museum in Klaipėda.

"Mongolese No.1" is one of the earliest works by P. Domšaitis, found in private collections and possibly one of the few works not in a museum from the Pranas Domšaitis Memorial Exhibition, from which it came from a personal family collection.
