Oscar Quarshie Nelson  b. 2000,  Ghana

The beautiful skin textures of Oscar‘s subjects are created by layering threads onto oil paint. Deep brown tones, the radiancy, and complexity of African skin are put in contrast with flat and tedious western clothing. The paintings are capturing moments of harmony with oneself and nature as the subjects are put in natural, calming circumstances.
