Vincent Gallo (b. 1961) is an American actor, director, and musician known for his distinctive and often controversial art. He is best known for his roles in films such as Goodfellas, Arizona Dream, and the self‑directed Buffalo ’66, in which he also plays the lead character. Gallo directs other experimental films, including The Brown Bunny and Essential Killing, for which his performance earned him a Volpi Cup. He is also active in music, creating instrumental compositions that resemble film scores. His public persona and interviews are marked by a provocative and uncompromising attitude, which has led to very divided opinions among critics and viewers.
