Sign.: LL Mane Katz LL 233/300.
Framed
Color lithograph (No. 10) from a set of 12 lithographs created by Mane-Katz based on the work "Stempeniou" by Sholem Aleichem.
All lithographs are signed in print: "Mane Katz," created entirely by the artist Mane Katz, illustrating Sholem Aleichem's book "Stempeniou."
The lithographs were printed by "Mourlot Lith and Manaranche Grav."
Mane Katz began a series of gouaches in Geneva in 1958 to illustrate the story "Stempeniou." He later completed them all in New York and sought the help of the renowned printer Fernando Mourlot to produce a limited edition set of original prints based on his gouaches. Mane Katz began designing the 12 plates in 1960 but passed away (1962) before completing them, leaving this project to his friend Alex Manaranche, who finished it in 1966.
The entire edition of 300 copies was printed in January 1966 in Paris. Publisher: Boston Book and Art Shop, Boston, MA, USA
