Jacques Lipchitz is unquestionably the most prominent Lithuanian-born artist. Lipchitz's sculptures are present in virtually all of the world's most famous museums. In Lithuania, his works are held by the Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VGŽIM) and the International Vilnius Art Gallery (Tartle).

Lipchitz greeted the rebirth of the Jewish state with the sculpture "The Miracle" (1948) - an upward-facing figure with raised hands to the tablets of the covenant, above which rises an illuminated menorah.
