Collection: Vladimir Mackevich

Vladimir Mackevich (b. 1981) is a Lithuanian artist who studied interior design at the Vilnius College of Technologies and Design and has taken part in more than 40 exhibitions across Europe, with solo shows in Moscow and Berlin. He has developed his own method, “cuboalphabetism”, breaking subjects into component parts in a way that recalls Cubism. His seemingly simple, cartoon-like images comment on present-day life, social media and globalisation.

Vladimir Mackevich (b. 1981) is a Lithuanian artist. He studied interior design at the Vilnius College of Technologies and Design. Mackevich has developed his own approach, which he calls “cuboalphabetism”, breaking subjects down into component parts in a way that recalls Cubism while addressing contemporary life. His seemingly simple, cartoon-like imagery comments on present-day reality, including social media and globalisation. He finds inspiration primarily in the people around him. His solo exhibition “Sego Dnya” was held at K35 Art Gallery in Moscow in 2014, and he later showed at Cosmoscow (2021) and in a solo exhibition at Panke Gallery in Berlin (2019). He has taken part in more than 40 exhibitions across Europe, including in Vilnius, Moscow, Berlin and Barcelona. The triptych “The Meeting” (2008), three oil paintings on canvas offered by TUMO Gallery, is an early work signed “Встреча – В. Мацкевичус 08”.
