Simonas Gelminauskis is a Lithuanian painter and sculptor whose path combines art and economics. He graduated from the Vilnius Academy of Arts with a degree in sculpture, also training in painting and drawing. After a break of more than two decades, he returned to painting in 2013, a turning point later featured by Lynx Art Magazine. His expressive, abstract works combine Lithuanian artistic traditions, the freedom of the École de Paris and the gestural spontaneity of Japanese sumi-e ink painting, with bold colour contrasts and dynamic brushwork. In 2023 he completed a residency at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris, where his studio in the Marais inspired a series of Paris scenes. His solo exhibitions include “Crossroads” (2020) and “With Love from Paris” (2024), and he has shown at Art Shopping in the Carrousel du Louvre, Art Vilnius and Art Kaunas, as well as at Agora Gallery in New York (2025). From 2020 to 2023 he founded and ran Mono Gallery in Vilnius. He is a member of the Lithuanian Artists’ Association and supports charitable causes, including Ukrainian orphanages and animal welfare.
