Collection: Gabrielė Krulytė
Gabrielė Krulytė is a Lithuanian painter with bachelor’s and master’s degrees in painting from the Vilnius Academy of Arts, who has exhibited since 2017, recently also as Gabrielė Krulytė-Žurauskienė. Her painting explores an emotional relationship with her surroundings and human fragility and transience. Light, plant structures and organic patterns become metaphors for inner experience in compositions poised between form and abstraction.
Gabrielė Krulytė is a Lithuanian painter who completed both her bachelor’s and master’s studies in painting at the Vilnius Academy of Arts. She has taken part in exhibitions and art competitions since 2017, and more recently has also exhibited under the name Gabrielė Krulytė-Žurauskienė. In 2020, as a master’s student, she took part in the exhibition “Intruzija” at the Museum of Geology and Mineralogy of Vilnius University, showing the work “Lelijos” (Lilies). Her painting explores an emotional relationship with the surrounding world and its reflections in colour and form, touching on human fragility and transience. She draws on the observation of nature – vibrations of light, plant structures and organic patterns – which in her work become metaphors for inner experience. Her compositions move between calm and tension, between clearly defined form and abstracted image, and she experiments with the intensity, layering and texture of colour. The painting “Melts away” (2016), oil on canvas, offered by TUMO Gallery, is an early work by the artist whose title points to the theme of transience that runs through her practice.
