Collection: Earthbound Emotions | solo exhibition by Kamilė Rimkutė

On November 19 at 6:00 PM, TUMO Gallery (Užupio St. 28, Vilnius) will open Earthbound Emotions, the first solo exhibition by Kamilė Rimkutė, a Lithuanian painter living and working in Portugal.

The artist studied art and graphic design in Boston, USA.

The rough, textured surfaces of her canvases are created using acrylic paint and mixed media techniques. For the artist, the textures of both the human body and the canvas are more than technical elements of painting – they reflect lived experiences, vulnerability, and personal history.

In her work, Kamilė Rimkutė explores human emotions, body language, and our connection to the earth and the surrounding environment. Her paintings are characterized by expressive, textured surfaces, an earthy color palette, and figures whose emotions are conveyed not through facial expressions but through body language, movement, and posture. Her work brings together visual sensitivity, materiality, and personal experience.

The works presented in the exhibition invite viewers to observe body language, gestures, intimacy, and silence more closely.

Kamilė Rimkutė's works have previously been exhibited at Sestante Art Gallery and Looma Gallery in Portugal and have been acquired by collectors in Portugal, Switzerland, and the United States.
