{"title":"Rimvidas Jankauskas-Kampas","description":"\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eRimvidas Jankauskas-Kampas (1957–1993)\u003c\/strong\u003e was a Lithuanian painter, regarded as one of the brightest artists of his generation. He studied at the Kaunas Stepas Žukas School of Applied Art and graduated from the State Art Institute of Lithuania in Vilnius in 1987. He was a member of the painters’ group “Angis”. For the last five years of his life he lived and worked in Kaunas, in a closed synagogue at the foot of Žaliakalnis that served as his studio; synagogues became the subject of his most mature paintings, such as “Goodbye Synagogue” (1991) and “Abandoned Synagogue” (1993). He died in 1993 at the age of 35. His works are held by the Lithuanian National Museum of Art, the M. K.
